SOMETIMES THE SIGNS ARE ALL AROUND US. WE JUST HAVE TO SEE THEM.
Spoken word sits at the heart of Signs. Ashley Chin's performance doesn't simply narrate what we're seeing. It gives us access to the questions underneath it. The visual storytelling was therefore built to exist alongside the poetry rather than illustrate every line literally. The result is a conversation between poetry and cinema, where neither needs to explain the other.
When Words BECOME Pictures
Signs was created to do more than simply be watched. It was designed to create a moment of reflection. By approaching themes of faith and purpose through character, poetry and cinematic storytelling, the film creates space for the audience to engage with those ideas emotionally before asking them to engage intellectually. For Hill House Media, that represents the kind of storytelling we're continually drawn towards: Stories that ask something of the audience. Stories that stay with you after the screen goes dark.
