WHAT DOES FREEDOM MEAN WHEN IT ISN'T SHARED BY EVERYONE?
Freedom begins in that familiar space before asking what happens when the people watching begin to question what they're seeing. Through conversations between generations and the perspective of young people trying to make sense of events far beyond their own homes, the film transforms a distant headline into something deeply human.
Children and young people sit at the emotional centre of the film. They don't approach what they're seeing through geopolitics. They approach it through a much more instinctive understanding of fairness, suffering and humanity.

And engage with the world around us.
Visually, the film moves between contrasting realities. The comfort and familiarity of everyday life and images reminding us of events happening far beyond that space. The contrast is intentional. One world watches. Another experiences. By placing those realities beside one another, Freedom asks the audience to consider the distance between witnessing suffering and truly engaging with its human consequences.
